Amblyopia is the abnormal visual development in one eye which occurs at a very young age.  One eye will be more farsighted, more nearsighted or have a lot more astigmatism. The eye may not show visual signs of amblyopia, however you may also see one eye moving inward or outward. As time passes the brain will start favoring the clear images from the good eye, this process will weaken the opposite eye. Treatment is available and early detection is important as this can improve the chances of your childs eyes returning to having normal vision.
